Symetra Tour 2015
See below for updates of my season 2015:
October 22-25: Venice, Florida
LPGA Qualifying School Stage II was held on the Plantation Golf Course on both the Bobcat and Panther Golf Course. I finished T22 to successfully advance through to Stage III in December. It was a very windy week with some tough holes playing longer so the scores were higher than the previous year. Looking forward to final stage in December where top 20 gain full status on LPGA for 2016.
October 15th-18th: Daytona Beach, Florida
This is held at LPGA International on the Jones course. Stage III of LPGA Qualifying school is held here December and it is a good chance to play the course. After 3 rounds of nice calm weather I was at -2, however, with windy conditions on the last day I fell to T50. I ended my first Symetra Tour season 108 on the money list. Definitely a huge learning experience and have come to realize all the privileges and sacrifices this career entails. Where others may be discouraged after a lengthy year of golf, I have grown to love the game of golf even more. Looking forward to the challege of qualifying for LPGA through qualifying school Stages II and III.
October 9th-11th: Longwood, Florida
IOA Golf Classic in Longwood, Florida. Missed the cut by two strokes. Had a tough time around the greens and had trouble adjusting to playing on grain. Looking forward to another week preparation before Qualifying Stage II in Venice Beach Florida.
September 21st-27th: El Dorado, Arkansas
Mystic Creek is probably one of the best golf courses and toughest we have played on this year. The course was designed by Ken Dye and has very challenging greens quite like Pinehurst. My ball striking definitely helped me score well this week and I had my first Top 10 finish with T9. Looking forward to a week off before heading to Florida for three weeks!
September 14th-20th: Garden City Charity Classic
Had a great time in Kansas and was lucky to be housed by the president of the local Garden City Community College. The scores were higher than normal as we had winds of around 20mph to battle with on Friday. I was happy with the way I played and managed to make the cut. Played the front nine -1 for the tournament however took too many penalty shots around the back nine.
September 7th-13th: Prairie Band Casino and Resort Charity Classic
This tournament was held in Mayetta Kansas. Unfortunately the weather was terrible throughout the week. My first time experiencing a tornado warning. The course suffered 3 inches of rain all in one night. I missed the cut again but looking forward to next week.
September 1st-6th: Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge:
My first time in Sioux Falls in South Dakota. Plenty of cornfields and golf courses here. I posted +2 for round 1 sitting right on the cut line. We had a weather delay during our second round with a thunderstorm passing through. I had some unlucky bounces and putts that lipped out to finish the day at +2 again. Play was suspended due to darkness for some players and play resumed early Saturday morning. Unfortunately I missed the cut by one shot. Definitely a tough week but learned a lot. Reminded how important every shot is. Looking forward to next weeks event in Mayetta, Kansas.
August: Currently spending the month of August in California to see my Coach Jim Gormley at Palos Verdes Golf Club to tune up the swing and short game. Next event is in Sioux Falls South Dakota September 3-6.
